WHAT ARE DAY SERVICES?

Our Day Support Services are located at 208 Dundee St. Windsor, NC 27983 and 1321 West 1st St. Ahoskie, NC 27910.  Individual services which may be included in this service are those generally understood as habilitation - support services. Assistance with acquisition, retention, or improvement in self-help, socialization and adaptive skills which takes place in a non-residential setting, separate from the home or facility in which the individual resides. Day Supports services shall focus on enabling the individual to attain or maintain his or her maximum functional level and shall be coordinated with any physical, occupation, or speech therapies listed in the individual's service plan.

In addition, day supports services may serve to reinforce skills or lessons taught in school, therapy, or other settings. This service is focused on the implementation of strategies and activities in the person's service plan that support personal interaction, enhanced social roles and community membership.  This service is intended to assist individuals to live as independently as possible.  This service focuses on assisting individuals in becoming connected to naturally occurring support systems and relationships in the community to provide and enhance opportunities for meaningful community participation.
